Your files and text never leave your computer. The PDF is rendered and rebuilt in your browser. It is not uploaded or stored by Chrysoro.

Browser compression works by rendering pages and rebuilding the PDF as JPEG-backed pages. It can reduce scanned or image-heavy PDFs, but it may not shrink text-only PDFs and can flatten selectable text.

How to use

  1. Upload one PDF.
  2. Choose the image quality level.
  3. Select Compress PDF.
  4. Download the resulting PDF and compare the size.

Frequently asked questions

Will the output always be smaller?

No. Some PDFs are already efficiently compressed, so the resulting file may not be smaller.

Does this preserve selectable text?

The current browser method renders pages visually and may flatten selectable text.
